According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in November 2007 the Estonian foreign trade turnover made up about 27.1 billion kroons.a The trade deficit was 3.6 billion kroons and the trade deficit decreased compared to November 2006 as well as to October 2007.
Compared to November 2006, the foreign trade turnover increased 6%, but decreased 2% compared to October 2007.
In November 2007 the exports were 11.7 billion kroons (43%) and imports 15.3 billion kroons (57%). Compared to November 2006, the exports of goods increased 12% and the imports of goods 2%.
In November 2007 the trade deficit decreased. In November 2006 it was 4.5 billion kroons and in October 2007 — 3.9 billion kroons.

In November the share of EU countries (EU-27)b in exports accounted for 70% and of the CIS countries 13% of total exports (in November 2006 the indicators were 68% and 13%, respectively). The main destination countries in exports were Finland (19% of total exports), Sweden (14%) and Latvia (10%).
In November the share of EU countries (EU-27) in imports was 80% and of the CIS countries 12% of total imports (in November 2006 the indicators were 77% and 14%, respectively). The main consignment countries in imports were Finland (15% of total imports), Germany (13%) and Sweden (12%).
Compared to November 2006, there was an increase mainly in the exports of agricultural products and food preparations (by 485 million kroons), of mineral products (by 320 million kroons), of transport equipment (by 226 million kroons), of miscellaneous manufactured articles (by 174 million kroons) and of wood and products thereof (by 151 million kroons). At the same time, there was a considerable decrease in the exports of machinery and equipment (by 225 million kroons).
Compared to November 2006, there was an increase mainly in the imports of mineral products (by 598 million kroons), of agricultural products and food preparations (by 223 million kroons) and of transport equipment (by 136 million kroons). At the same time, there was a remarkable decrease in the imports of machinery and equipment (by 496 million kroons) and of metals and products thereof (by 250 million kroons).
