The yearbook presents an overview on the anthropogenic pressure which gives rise to environmental problems (emissions into the air, waste generation, wastewater discharge, use and emissions of chemicals and ozone depleting substances, etc.). The emphasis has been laid on the year 2007. Comparisons are drawn with previous years, other countries and targets set in the Estonian environmental strategy. The data are also provided by counties. The interpretation of the data has been facilitated by a short description of methodology and explanation of terms. The information has been provided in overviews, diagrams and tables. Previously has been published under the title "Keskkond. Environment". Addressed to all persons interested in the environment.
