Producer price indices in March increased

In March compared to February 2008 the producer price index was mainly influenced by the increase in prices in extraction of peat and in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products. Compared to March 2007 the producer price index was mainly influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of food and beverages.

In March 2008 the percentage change in the export price index was 0.2% compared to February 2008 and 6.4% compared to March 2007.

In March compared to February the export price index was mainly influenced by the increase in prices in extraction of peat and in the manufacture of chemical products and metal products.

In March 2008 the percentage change in the import price index was 1.1% compared to February 2008 and 5.2% compared to March 2007.

In March compared to February the import price index was mainly influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of mineral fuels and in the production of agricultural products.
