According to Statistics Estonia, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises grew 6% in constant prices in November 2007 compared to November of the previous year. In October, for the first time in 2007, the retail trade growth rate dropped below the level of 10%, and in November the deceleration continued.
In November, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises were 4.5 billion kroons. Compared to November of the previous year, retail sales increased in most economic activities. The retail sales of other specialized stores and also the retail sales in stores selling textiles, clothing and footwear increased most — compared to November of the previous year, 29% and 12%, respectively.
Compared to October 2007, the retail sales of goods in retail trade enterprises decreased by 5% in constant prices, which is characteristic of the period prior to Christmas marketing in December.
In November, the revenues from sales of retail trade enterprises were 5.3 billion kroons, out of which retail sales of goods accounted for about 85%. Compared to November 2006, the revenues from sales in current prices increased 11%, but compared to October 2007, this indicator decreased 3%.
