Producer price indices increased in July

In July compared to the previous month as well as to July of the previous year the producer price index was mainly influenced by the increase in prices in the energy supply.

In July 2008 the percentage change in the export price index was 0.1% compared to June and 4.3% compared to July of the previous year.

In July compared to the previous month the export price index was mainly influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products and food products and beverages and by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products and in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products.

In July 2008 the percentage change in the import price index was 0.5% compared to June and 8.8% compared to July of the previous year.

In July compared to the previous month the import price index was mainly influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products and in the manufacture of paper and paper products and by the decrease in prices of agricultural products and wearing apparel and leather products.
