According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2008 the percentage change in the producer price index was 0.3% compared to July and 7.3% compared to August of the previous year.
In August compared to the previous month the producer price index was mainly influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products and in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products and compared to August of the previous year by the increase in prices in energy supply.

In August 2008 the percentage change in the export price index was -0.1% compared to July and 3.8% compared to August of the previous year.
In August compared to the previous month the export price index was mainly influenced by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products, in the manufacture of wearing apparel, in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products and in the manufacture of electrical machinery and by the increase in prices in the manufacture of metals and fabricated metal products.
In August 2008 the percentage change in the import price index was -0.5% compared to July and 8.4% compared August of the previous year.
In August compared to the previous month the import price index was mainly influenced by the decrease in prices of mineral fuels, agricultural products, wood and wood products and electrical machinery and by the increase in prices of wearing apparel, footwear and metals.
