Producer price indices in July

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2009 the producer price index increased 0.5% compared to June and decreased 1.6% compared to July 2008.

In July compared to the previous month the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of fabricated metal products and wood products. Compared to July 2008 the prices increased most in energy supply and decreased in the manufacture of fabricated metal products.

In July 2009 compared to June 2009 the export price index did not change and decreased 5.4% compared to July 2008.

In July compared to the previous month, the export price index was more than average influenced by the decrease in prices in forestry, in the manufacture of food products and wearing apparel and by the increase in prices in the manufacture of textiles and textile products.

In July 2009 compared to June 2009 the import price index increased 0.7% and decreased 7.7% compared to July 2008.

In July compared to the previous month, the import price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices of mineral fuels and by the decrease in prices of agricultural products, footwear and wearing apparel.
