Producer price index did not change in May

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2012 the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.0% compared to April and by 2.0% compared to May of the previous year.

In May compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the production of chemicals, chemical products and metal products, as well as by the decrease in prices in the production wood and wood products and electronic products.

Compared to May 2011, the index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of food products and heat energy.

In May 2012 the export price index changed by 1.0% compared to April 2012 and by 2.1% compared to May 2011.

In May compared to the previous month, the prices of metals, petroleum and chemical products increased more than average, and the prices of forest and electronic products decreased more than average.

In May 2012 the import price index changed by 0.0% compared to April 2012 and by 3.8% compared to May 2011.

In May compared to the previous month, the prices of leather and textile products and building materials increased more than average and the prices of agricultural and petroleum products decreased more than average.
