Due to a fire in the server room of the Land Board there is a problem with the display of base maps in the statistics map application.
During the 2011 Population and Housing Census, the people of Estonia will, for the first time, have the opportunity to participate in the census on the Internet. This is the very first time that respondents can complete the census questionnaire at a time and place of their choice – in the early morning, in the afternoon or late at night; at home, at work or at a library. If the questionnaire is properly completed, you will not be visited by an enumerator.
During the first month – from 31 December 2011 to 31 January 2012 – residents can participate in the e-census, by completing questionnaires on themselves, their household and dwelling in the special e-census environment.
The submission of census data online is easy and anyone who has used the Internet will be able to do it. The questionnaire is equipped with the necessary instructions and users can also call a helpline. You can read the e-census instructions HERE.
You do not need to have a computer and Internet access at home to be able to participate in the e-census. The questionnaires can be completed at any public Internet access point, at work, at school, at a friend’s place or at the nearest library, for example.
To complete the questionnaire online, you only need an ID card or Mobile ID with the necessary PIN codes, or Internet bank codes, because all users must be authenticated before they can enter the e-census environment. Make sure that you also know the personal identification codes of all the household members you plan to enumerate (including yourself).
After you exit the census questionnaire, you should also exit the e-census environment. To do this, simply click the link “Exit”. It is recommended to close all browser windows, before another member of the household logs into the environment.
The questions in the e-census questionnaires and interview questionnaires are exactly the same.
