Entering the address in the e-census questionnaire

I cannot find my address with the search function.

If the desired address cannot be found in the search results, try to narrow or expand the search parameters, depending on whether the number of results was too large or too small. If the correct address is not offered in the results of the address search, click on the “Map” button under the search results (it is displayed only after a search has been performed). If Adobe Flash Player has not been installed on the computer, you can enter the address manually by clicking “Enter address here”.

I found my address with the search function but cannot use the “Save and continue” button.

In this case you should verify the entered address. It is possible that this is a type of dwelling for which the application also requires the entry of an apartment number (the type of the dwelling is, for instance, an apartment in a non-residential building).

I do not have Adobe Flash Player on my computer and I cannot install it. Does this prevent me from participating in the e-census?

No, it does not. You do not need Adobe Flash Player to fill in the questionnaires. If you do not have this software installed and you cannot find your address with the search function, you can enter the address manually by clicking “Enter address here”. Installation of Adobe Flash Player is suggested as an additional option.

I live in a house which was built in another building’s yard and does not have a separate address. How do I determine my address?

One of the aims of the census is to enumerate all dwellings and, therefore, it is important to record the house in the yard as a separate dwelling. The location of the unnumbered house in the yard should be marked manually on the map. If Adobe Flash Player is not installed, enter the address manually by clicking “Enter address here”. In this case, enter the address of the numbered house in the address field and, in the field “House / lot number”, add a slash and “2” to the house number. For example, if the address of the house is Koidula 33, the number of the house in the yard should be “33/2”. If the unnumbered house is located in the yard of a farmhouse, add number “2” to the name of the farm. N.B. In such cases as above, Statistics Estonia may contact the respondent to specify the address information.

N.B. If you complete the questionnaire in Russian or in English, the search terms in the address search must be entered in Estonian.
