Today, 6 February 2,200 enumerators will come together in training centres all over Estonia to acquire skills and knowledge necessary for enumerator’s work.
“Enumerators are facing a very important week during which they have to master all the skills necessary for enumerator’s work,” said Ms Maris Post, Fieldwork Manager of the Population and Housing Census. “The training includes communication requirements, data protection and security requirements, population census methodology, but also computer literacy and skills of using its programmes.”
During the five days the enumerators will listen to the lectures on theory, solve practical tasks and have to pass the test on the acquired material on Friday, 10 February. “Practical tasks are most important – enumerators interview each other during the training and they surely receive several tasks for homework,” said Ms Post.
Training week for enumerators will start on Monday morning, 6 February in 15 training centres all over Estonia.
In the period of 16 February to 31 March 2012, enumerators will visit those people who did not participate in the e-census or whose questionnaires were left unfinished.
