Internal trade is a field of economy that includes both wholesale and retail trade (including the wholesale, retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles) and is the largest economic sector in Estonia both with respect to the number of active enterprises and net sales.
In this subject area, it is possible to find monthly, quarterly and yearly data. Data are mainly published by economic activity and commodity group, but there are also tables where data are displayed by the number of persons employed or by region.
In the subject area of internal trade, Statistics Estonia publishes data about trade enterprises (motor trade, wholesale trade and retail trade enterprises).
Retail sales volume indices show the changes in the volume of sales of goods at constant prices compared to sales in some previous period. Price indices of goods are used in the calculation of the volume indices.
Economic indicators of internal trade is a sub-area that gives an overview of Estonian trade enterprises in terms of net sales, wholesale and retail sales, costs, profit, assets, liabilities, equity, investments, trade margin, value added, productivity indicators and so on.
