According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the industrial production in 2007 increased 6% compared to the previous year. The rapid growth in energy production and mining affected the growth in industry. The growth in manufacturing slowed down and turned to downfall at the end of the year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in December 2007 the retail sales of retail trade enterprises were 5.4 billion kroons, which is 630 million kroons more compared to December 2006.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2005 two thirds (67%) of Estonian enterprises offered their employees a possibility for in-service training. Compared to most former socialist countries Estonia has a better position here, whereas in comparison with Nordic Countries Estonian companies train their employees less.

According to Statistics Estonia, the percentage change in the producer price index was 8.3% in 2007 compared to the average of 2006. The producer price index was mainly influenced by the increase in the prices in the manufacture of food and wood.

According to Statistics Estonia, the percentage change of the consumer price index in the 4th quarter of 2007 compared to the 4th quarter of 2006 was 9.0%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2007 the percentage change of the construction price index was 12.7% compared to the average of 2006. The index was mainly influenced by the increase in the labour costs.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 154,000 tourists - of which 56% foreign tourists - stayed in accommodation establishments. Compared to November 2006, the number of foreign tourists decreased by 2,700.
