Government debt and deficit (revised data), 2007
According to the adjusted data of Statistics Estonia, the Estonian general government sector surplus in 2007 was 2.7% and the consolidated gross debt level was 3.5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The general government gross debt level is the lowest within the decade.

According to the Statistics Estonia, in 2007 the Estonian overall tax ratio was 33.1% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The ratio of taxes and compulsory social security contributions to the GDP rose by 1.8 percentage points compared to 2006.

According to Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product created in Harju county covered 61.1% of the Estonias gross domestic product (GDP) in 2006. Concentration of active economic activity in Tallinn played the main role in it. The value added created in Tallinn accounted for 50.8% of Estonias GDP.

According to Statistics Estonia, 1.9 million foreign tourists stayed overnight in Estonia last year, this comprises 0.4% of tourists travelling in the European countries.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July of this year the value of exports of goods at current prices amounted to 11.1 billion kroons which was 12% more than in July of the previous year. The July indicator of the growth rate of exports was one of the largest this year, remaining only behind the 18 per cent growth rate of exports reported in April.

In 2011 the first e-census will be conducted in Estonia
During the 2011 Population and Housing Census, Statistics Estonia is planning to use e-census for the first time in the history of Estonian censuses. The census enables the residents of Estonia and those who are temporarily staying abroad to submit the data electronically. As previously, it is also possible to present the data to the enumerator during the face-to-face interview.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 345,000 tourists used the services of accommodation establishments, which is 6,000 tourists more than in the same period of the previous year. The number foreign tourists increased, the number of domestic tourists decreased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2007 Estonian enterprises produced over 12,000 gigawatt hours electricity or one fourth more compared to the previous year. The increase of production was caused by about a threefold growth of exports.

The Information Centre of Statistics Estonia celebrates its birthday
Today, the 1st of September is the 15th anniversary of the Information Centre of Statistics Estonia. In order to introduce the history of the Information Centre and the items in the library the exhibition is open till the 12th of September.
