Statistics Estonia has organised public procurement under the simplified procedure for engaging the recruiter of the employees related to the Population and Housing Census. The provider of recruitment service has to find 2,422 persons as total to conduct the Census.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2011 the producer price index of industrial output increased by 0.1 % compared to January and by 5.0% compared to February of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2011 compared to the same month of the previous year, exports of goods grew by 57% and imports by 66% at current prices. The growth in imports was mainly influenced by the arrivals of machinery and equipment as well as transport equipment. Among partner countries Sweden ranked the first in both exports and imports.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010 the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 3.1% compared to the previous year. The GDP began to grow compared to the previous year gradually since the 2nd quarter and in the 4th quarter the GDP increased by 6.7% according to the first estimates.

According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2010 the total profit of business sector was 2.0 billion euros (30.9 billion kroons), being about two times bigger than in the previous year. At the same time the total profit decreased more than a fifth compared to 2008 and about 40% compared to the record high 2007.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2011 compared to January of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises decreased 2% at constant prices.

Construction, 4th quarter 2010
According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2010 the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and in foreign countries amounted to 1.3 billion euros (20.1 billion kroons), which is 13% less than a year earlier. The construction volumes which had started to decline in 2008 kept decreasing in 2010, too.
