Production of industrial output and energy, August 2011
According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2011, the production of industrial enterprises grew 23% compared to the same month of the previous year. The growth in production was most of all influenced by the manufacturing of electronic products.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2011 compared to August of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 4% at constant prices. During the last seven months, retail sales were showing a stable growth in comparison with the same month of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010, the production of electricity of Estonian power stations totalled nearly 13,000 gigawatt-hours, which is about a half more than a year earlier. The production of other types of fuels also increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2011, 397,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments and the number of both domestic and foreign tourists increased by 11% compared to July of the previous year.

The last testing of the Population Census came to an end
Statistics Estonia finished the last Pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census, where during 11 days the conduct of the whole Census was tested. Over 300 employees of Statistics Estonia and volunteers participated in the test.

According to the questionnaire carried out by the research agency Faktum & Ariko in August, two thirds of the population of Estonia is ready to answer the Census questionnaire via Internet.
