According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2012, the production of industrial enterprises increased 1% compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2012 compared to February of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 12% at constant prices.

Statistics Estonia: people have two more days to ask for an enumerator to visit them
Until Sunday 25 March (inclusive), all those people who have not participated in the census and have not been contacted by an enumerator yet can notify Statistics Estonia and have an enumerator sent to their place of residence. By Friday, more than 1,000 people had notified Statistics Estonia.

According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2011 the Estonian general government sector surplus was 1% and gross debt level was 6% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Transport, 2011
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2011, the number of passengers carried by Estonian transport enterprises continued to decrease for the fifth year in succession. The decline in the number of passengers carried was influenced the most by reduction of passengers in urban transport. Transport enterprises carried more goods compared to the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2012 the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.4 % compared to January and by 3.5% compared to February of the previous year.

This week, enumerators start visiting those dwellings where the e-census questionnaires were incomplete or contained contradictory information. There are almost 70,000 cases of this kind.

According to Statistics Estonia, by adjusted data, the number of population in Estonia decreased by about 3,000 persons in 2011 and on 1 January 2012 it totalled 1,318,000 persons.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2012, exports of goods from Estonia grew by 15% and imports to Estonia by 10% at current prices compared to the same month of the previous year. Foreign trade deficit decreased due to the growth in exports being faster than in imports.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2012, 154,000 tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 5% more than in January the year earlier. For the first time, the number of tourists from Russia exceeded the number of tourists from Finland.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2011 the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 7.6% compared to the previous year. In the 4th quarter, GDP growth decelerated to 4.5% according to the second estimates.

Job vacancies and labour turnover, 4th quarter 2011
According to Statistics Estonia, there were more than 6,300 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 4th quarter of 2011 – this is 31% more than in the same period last year. The rate of job vacancies was 1.3%.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change in the consumer price index in February 2012 was 0.4% compared to January and 4.2% compared to February of the previous year.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2011 the total profit of the business sector was 2.8 billion euros, which is 40% more than the year before. The enterprises last earned a similar total profit in 2006 and 2008.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2012, the production of industrial enterprises decreased 0.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. The slowdown in the growth was caused by the fall in the production of electricity.

According to Statistics Estonia, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 15% at constant prices in January 2012, compared to January 2011.
