According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2012, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 7% compared to the same month of the previous year. The main reason for the decline was the decrease in energy and mining production.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 900 euros and increased 5.0% compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year. The increase was smaller than in the previous quarters.

Statistics Estonia reports that, according to the preliminary results of the Population and Housing Census, 157 native languages are spoken in Estonia.68.5% of the population speak Estonian as the native language, with one tenth of the population able to speak an Estonian dialect.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2012 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries grew 30%, while the growth on the domestic market was 31%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2012 the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.2 % compared to June 2012 and by 1.5% compared to July of the previous year.

According to the preliminary data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census, of the 1,294,236 enumerated permanent residents in Estonia, 1,101,761 are Estonian citizens. Compared to the previous census, the share of Estonian citizens has increased from 80% to 85%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2012, the number of unemployed persons decreased to 71,000 and the unemployment rate to 10.2%. The situation of young people on the labour market has not improved this year.
