Population and Housing Census in 2011

In 2011, the Population and Housing Census was conducted for the eleventh time in Estonia. All permanent residents and all dwellings in Estonia were enumerated during the census.

The population census lasted for three months and was conducted in two stages:

• From 31 December 2011 to 1 February 2012 people could participate in the Population Census also online. During the first month over 880,455 persons enumerated themselves.
• Those who did not participate in the e-census were visited by enumerators in the period of 20 February to 31 March 2012.
