Priit Potisepp was born in Estonia on 30 June 1968. He graduated from the Tallinn University of Technology, Faculty of Economics in 1993 as an economist. At the beginning of the 1990s, he passed a part of the academic study programme in the Kiel University of Applied Sciences in Germany in the specialty of business management. He started his employment career in 1995 in the insurance sector as a member of the management board of the biggest insurance company in Estonia, after the merger in 1999 he continued as the Chairman of the Executive Board of the largest life insurance company. Starting from 2002 he worked as the Head of the Branch Network in Hansabank Estonia. Since the end of 2004 he has been working as the Director General of Statistics Estonia. In the European Statistical System he has been a member of the Partnership Group and in 2011 he was elected a member of the Bureau of the UNECE Conference of European Statisticians. He is married and father of two children. Language skills: Estonian, English, German and Russian.
