The biggest gender pay gap of the European Union has been recorded in Estonia. In order to reduce the gap, it is vital to observe its dynamics and factors which may influence the emergence and persistence of the pay gap. The publication examines changes in the gender pay gap over time based on different background variables (ethnicity, education, etc), and the factors (gender segregation, the activity of women in business, the influence of family and children, parental benefits, paternal leave, parental leave) which impact on the pay gap. The publication has been compiled in the framework of the project “Increased availability of gender pay gap statistics”.
