2According to the Law on the Central Bank of the Republic of Estonia (in force since 1993, last amended in 2008) Bank of Estonia is prohibited from granting any credits to local governments budgets. Hence, no claims exist against local governments.
Bank of Estonia has no claims on nonfinancial public enterprises.
3Data on the prescribed components of
a) policy rates are not disseminated as the Bank of Estonia does not set any policy rates;
b) rates on short term government securities are not disseminated as there are no Treasury bills issued in Estonia; and rates on long term government securities are also not disseminated as they are issued only occasionally.
4Interbank rates are fixed daily (starting from February 8th 1999). Data presented here refer to monthly average. Daily figures are presented on Eesti Pank Reuters and Telerate pages.
5Starting from January 2000 the data on foreign trade have been presented by special trade system. This means that exports excludes re-exportation from customs warehouses and imports does not include imports of goods to customs warehouses, but exportation of goods from customs warehouses for inward procession or home use is considered imports. To enable the comparability of data, the data for the previous year have also been presented by special trade system.
6No generally acceptable forward exchange rates are currently quoted or disseminated.
7The population estimates for the latest period and previous period are based on the 2000's population and housing census. Latest data will be revised.
