According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2024, exports of goods decreased by 16% and imports by 15% compared with March 2023. According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2020, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 18% compared to May 2019. Production decreased in all three industrial activities: manufacturing, energy production and mining.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the turnover volume of retail trade enterprises started to decline in May, after a period of growth since the beginning of the year. “This was due to stores selling manufactured goods where the volume of turnover was down by 5% year on year. In September 2019, the producer price index of industrial output fell by 0.1% compared to August 2019 and by 1.0% compared to September 2018.
