According to Statistics Estonia, in February, exports of goods increased by 16% and imports by 10% year on year. The growth in foreign trade was significantly boosted by trade in mineral products and wood and articles of wood.

According to Statistics Estonia, nearly 225,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in February 2024, which is 1% more than in February last year. The number of domestic tourists decreased a little, while the number of foreign tourists increased.

Evelin Puura, the foreign trade statistics team lead at Statistics Estonia, said that trade in August was affected by the continued decline in exports and imports in trade with European Union (EU) countries. “Compared with August 2023, exports to EU countries decreased by 3% and imports from EU countries by 8%. At the same time, extra-EU exports were up by 6%,” noted Puura. The average spending on outbound trips has increased by 43% in the years 2018–2023.
