777 tonnes of pesticides by active substance were placed on the market in Estonia in 2022, which is a sixth less than in 2021 and less than in 2020 as well. The majority of pesticides sold were again herbicides.

According to Statistics Estonia, 2.2% of the population of Estonia lived in absolute poverty and 20.6% lived at risk of poverty in 2020. Compared to 2019, both the share of people who lived at risk of poverty and who lived in absolute poverty fell by 0.1 percentage points.

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2011, exports from Estonia amounted to 1.1 billion euros and imports to Estonia also to 1.1 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 4 million euros, which is the smallest deficit of this year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2012, exports of goods from Estonia increased by 7% at current prices and imports to Estonia by 14% compared to June of the previous year. Faster growth in imports compared to exports increased also the trade deficit.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2017, compared to August of the previous year, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased 1% at constant prices. Similarly to July, turnover showed a stable one-percent growth also in August compared to the same month of the previous year.

Healthy life years (also called disability-free life expectancy) shows the average number of years an individual is expected to live free of disability if current patterns of mortality and disability continue to apply. To calculate healthy life years, Statistics Estonia uses the internationally recommended Sullivan method, which is convenient as few data are needed. It requires the mean annual population for five-year periods by sex and age groups, the number of deaths and the share of people with good health in these age groups.
