According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 5.7% at constant prices compared with the corresponding month a year earlier. Production increased by 19.3% in mining and by 2.6% in electricity production but decreased by 7% in manufacturing.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May, the consumer price index increased by 0.1% compared with April and by 2.9% compared with May 2023. Goods were 2.6% and services 3.3% more expensive than in May last year.

Evelin Puura, the foreign trade statistics team lead at Statistics Estonia, said that trade in August was affected by the continued decline in exports and imports in trade with European Union (EU) countries. “Compared with August 2023, exports to EU countries decreased by 3% and imports from EU countries by 8%. At the same time, extra-EU exports were up by 6%,” noted Puura. Compared with October 2022, exports of goods decreased by 21% and imports by 17% at current prices. The trade deficit in October was 307 million euros, which is 24 million euros more than a year earlier.
