According to Statistics Estonia, in 2023, Estonian accommodation establishments served over 3.43 million tourists, which is 5% more than in 2022. The number of foreign tourists increased last year, while the number of domestic tourists decreased.

In February 2021, the producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 1.0% compared to January and by 4.1% compared to February 2020.

“Looking at the wage change trend, wage growth is still slower now than in 2023,” said Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia. Average wages in seven groups of economic activities are higher than the national average Saagpakk stated that the average monthly gross wages and salaries in the third quarter of 2024 were the highest in information and communication (€3,506), financial and insurance activities (€3,068), and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (€2,540). According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 4% and imports by 31% compared to April 2021. Faster growth in imports contributed significantly to the increase of trade deficit, which reached 542 million euros in April.

Output declined in two of the three main sectors: by 31.5% in electricity production and by 13.1% in manufacturing. In mining, output increased by 36.3%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 35% and imports by 36% compared to January 2021. Trade growth was significantly boosted by the increased exports and imports and higher prices of mineral fuels and electricity.
