According to the second estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased 2.2% in the 3rd quarter of 2014 compared to the 3rd quarter of the previous year.

The places where people live have been recorded in one way or another for centuries. Today, on 20 October the World Statistics Day is celebrated for the first time under the auspices of the United Nations. Statistics Estonia organises a conference “Estonian Statistics in Focus” for this occasion.

Statistics Estonia finished the last Pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census, where during 11 days the conduct of the whole Census was tested. Over 300 employees of Statistics Estonia and volunteers participated in the test.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2016, aquaculture enterprises sold 868 tonnes of commercial fish and crayfish, with a total value of 3.7 million euros. The volume of aquaculture production sold in 2016 was among the highest in 20 years.
