Thursday, 3 November is the last day one can apply for the enumerator’s post at the Population and Housing Census starting at the end of the year. For conducting the Population Census, Statistics Estonia recruits 2,000 enumerators as total.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2017, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,201 euros, having increased 7.4% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2016. The year-over-year growth in wages and salaries accelerated for the second consecutive quarter.

“Compared with the first quarter, labour market indicators have improved, but remain below the figures for the second quarter of 2024,” said Tea Vassiljeva, analyst at Statistics Estonia. The analyst noted that while the unemployment rate in the second quarter (7.8%) was slightly higher than in last year’s second quarter (7.6%), it was 0.8 percentage points lower than in the first quarter of 2025. “The unemployment rate for men (8.4%) was higher than that for women (7.2%). There were a total of 59,200 unemployed persons in the second quarter, which is 5,000 fewer than in the previous quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the midnight of 31 March the pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011) came to an end, in the course of which, according to preliminary data, a total of 12,531 persons were enumerated. For the first time, the people could enumerate themselves via the Internet.

In August the growth rate of exports and imports accelerated

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2011, exports from Estonia amounted to 1.0 billion euros and imports to Estonia to 1.1 billion euros at current prices. If in July the annual growth of exports and imports was by 34% and 38%, respectively, then in August exports grew by 45% and imports by 42%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2009 exports of goods from Estonia at current prices totalled about 9 billion kroons and imports to Estonia amounted to 9.8 billion kroons. Exports to Russia declined the most compared to October 2008.

Cultural Participation Survey

What kind of survey is it? The Cultural Participation Survey collects information on the cultural interests, consumption of culture, and hobbies of Estonian residents. The aim of the survey is to provide objective statistics for the setting of cultural policy objectives in various domains of culture. Who commissions the survey? For the survey, the main representative of public interest is the Ministry of Culture. Why are the data needed? The Cultural Participation Survey is the only major cultural survey in Estonia. The results of the survey reveal which fields of culture people are interested
