Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the average monthly gross wages and salaries in 2024 were the highest in Tallinn (€2,325) and in Harju (€2,218) and Tartu (€1,995) counties. “Compared with 2023, the biggest increase in wages and salaries was seen in Hiiu (9.9%) and Ida-Viru (9.7%) counties. Today, 8th of July, the Government of the Republic approved the regulation, which allows Statistics Estonia during a two-year transition period to ask economic units the data already submitted to the Business Register in their annual reports.

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2013, 192,000 foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 6% less than in the same month of the previous year. The number of domestic tourists increased and the number of foreign tourists decreased.

At the end of 2024, there were 2.4 million poultry in Estonia. 97% of these were hens and cocks, and the remaining 78,200 were other poultry. Ege Kirs, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that egg production has started to increase again in recent years. “Last year, the poultry laid a total of 11,800 tonnes of eggs. The bulk of egg production comes from a few large farms, which are also the main contributors to production growth and decline,” Kirs noted. Evelin Puura, the foreign trade statistics team lead at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that Estonia's exports were significantly affected by the re-exports of previously imported goods which increased by 30% year on year. “The rise in re-exports was mainly due to transport equipment,” Puura added. Exports of goods of Estonian origin grew by 4% compared with February last year, accounting for 65% of total exports. “Looking at the wage change trend, wage growth is still slower now than in 2023,” said Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia. Average wages in seven groups of economic activities are higher than the national average Saagpakk stated that the average monthly gross wages and salaries in the third quarter of 2024 were the highest in information and communication (€3,506), financial and insurance activities (€3,068), and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (€2,540). The lowest average monthly gross wages and salaries were seen in accommodation and food service (€1,285)
