According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2024, exports of goods increased by 3% and imports by 6% compared with April 2023. Exports of goods amounted to more than €1.5 billion and imports to over €1.8 billion at current prices. The trade deficit was €305 million, which is €65 million more than in April last year.

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the fourth quarter of 2022, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 12% and imports by 25% at current prices compared with the fourth quarter in 2021. Services were sold to non-residents for a total of 3 billion and purchased for 2.2 billion euros. The balance of foreign trade in services was therefore in surplus by 765 million euros in the fourth quarter, which is 125 million euros less than in the same period a year earlier. Robert Müürsepp, the national accounts team lead at Statistics Estonia, said that the fourth quarter marked the end of 10 quarters of recession. “The last time the GDP grew was in the first quarter of 2022,” Müürsepp noted. In contrast to previous quarters, the majority of activities had a positive impact on the economy. “The energy sector led the way, with value added increasing by 21%. According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2023, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.5 billion and imports to 1.7 billion euros. Compared with November 2022, exports of goods decreased by 12% and imports by 19% at current prices. The trade deficit in November was 200 million euros, which is 198 million euros less than a year earlier.

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 0.7% in September 2023 compared with August and decreased by 2.5% compared with September last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, exports of goods increased by 17% and imports by 23% in 2022 compared with 2021. In December 2022, both exports as well as imports remained at the level of 2021.

In February 2022, the producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 0.8% compared to January 2022 and by 26.3% compared to February 2021.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.5 billion and imports to 1.8 billion euros. Compared with the same month in 2022, exports of goods decreased by 22% and imports by 19% at current prices. The trade deficit in in August was 293 million euros, which is 7 million euros less than a year earlier.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 11% and imports by 15% at current prices compared with October 2021.
