Statistics Estonia has organised public procurement for the purchase of 2,332 laptops which are going to be used in the conduct of the Population and Housing Census starting in December this year. After the end of the Population and Housing Census, the procured laptops will be used by various state agencies.

According to the final results of the 2013 Farm Structure Survey, there were 19,200 agricultural holdings in Estonia, of which nearly 1,000 largest ones produce more than three-quarters of standard output, announces Statistics Estonia. At the same time, there are 4,500 agricultural holdings which do not produce agricultural products but only maintain their lands in good agricultural and environmental condition.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2009 the exports at current prices decreased 24% and imports 33% compared to 2008. Exports to Finland and Sweden decreased most by the trade value. In the last months of the year the decline in the trade slowed down.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 900 euros and increased 5.0% compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year. The increase was smaller than in the previous quarters.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2016, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,091 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 6.86 euros. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2015, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 8.1% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.7%. In the 1st quarter, the average annual growth of monthly gross wages and salaries was slightly faster than in the 4th quarter of 2015.

Lauri Veski, manager of the consumer price statistics service team at Statistics Estonia, said that the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2025 came from price increases related to food and non-alcoholic beverages. “The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 6.9% last year,” said Veski. Among food products, the biggest rise occurred in the prices of chocolate (31.5%), coffee (31%), poultry (15.2%) and fresh fruits and berries (12.7%). According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 11,874 kroons (759 euros) and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 72.00 kroons (4.60 euros). Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 0.9% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 0.3% higher.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in November 2009 exports of goods from Estonia amounted to 9.1 billion kroons at current prices and imports to Estonia made up 10.3 billion kroons. The decline in exports and imports slowed down.
