The publication of short-term labour market statistics was based on a commissioning contract and the contract expired in 2024. Interactive charts give an overview of the labour market in Estonia based on the data of the employment register. According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2022, the total construction volume of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad increased by 14% year on year.

In 2021, there were 25 full-length films produced in Estonia, including 14 feature films and 11 documentaries. 103 short films were produced: 46 documentaries, 45 feature films, and 12 animations. 299 films were shown on cinema screens, which is 69 fewer than in 2020. The number of cinema visits fell to 1.39 million.

At-risk-of-poverty rate

Being at risk of poverty means that a person’s income is below the at-risk-of-poverty threshold. The threshold is calculated on the basis of equivalised disposable income that takes into account the composition of the household (the weight of the first adult member is 1, the weight of each additional member aged at least 14 years is 0.5 and the weight of everyone under 14 years of age is 0.3), i.e. the total household income is divided by the sum of equivalence scales of household members. The share of men receiving parental benefit increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, men accounted for slightly more than a fifth of the 34,570 persons receiving parental benefit. The average monthly parental benefit was 1,170 euros for women and 1,638 euros for men. The parental benefit gap was the lowest ever.

Museum attendance was over two times lower in 2020

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, there were 175 museums in Estonia with 227 museum sites. The number of museum visits was a little over 1.7 million, which is more than two times lower than in 2019.
