In the present Population and Housing Census, more than half of the population of Estonia have been enumerated online. The census questionnaires can be completed online only until 31 January late hours.
According to Statistics Estonia, in December 2011 compared to the same month of the previous year the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 5% at constant prices. Since February compared to the same month of the previous year, the retail sales have shown a stable growth.
In March 2014, the Member States of the European Union will finalise the 2010/2011 census round of the Population and Housing Census and submit the final report of the census to Eurostat.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2016, the unemployment rate was 6.8%, the employment rate 65.6% and the labour force participation rate 70.4%. Within a year, 8,300 additional people entered the labour market, which mainly results from the decrease in the number of inactive persons. Compared to 2015, the number of inactive people in the labour market has decreased by 9,700 persons.
Statistics Estonia finished the last Pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census, where during 11 days the conduct of the whole Census was tested. Over 300 employees of Statistics Estonia and volunteers participated in the test.
As of today, 1 July, a public choice competition is open, determining who will represent Estonia in the younger age group at the European Statistics Competition. The competition was interrupted during the emergency situation but is now continued.
According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2009 exports of goods at current prices decreased 26% and imports 36% compared to the same period of the previous year. The decline in trade was announced in most commodity sections, the biggest decrease was in exports and imports of machinery and equipment.
According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in February 2015 was 0.6% compared to January 2015 and -0.8% compared to February of the previous year.
