As of today, 25 August, the new website of Statistics Estonia is available to the public. The purpose of the upgraded website is to ensure more effective dissemination of reliable data and offer a better user experience.

According to Karl Annus, project manager at Statistics Estonia, it is now easier to find official statistics, and the data are better visualised. “The new website has a logical structure, and it is undoubtedly more intuitive compared to the old website,” said Annus. When creating the website, different user groups were considered to ensure that, for example, the media, business owners, stay-at-home parents, government officials or scientists would all have access to data in a format that best suits them.

To make it easier and more convenient for the users of statistics to find the information they need, the new website has an improved search function, and the statistical domains on which Statistics Estonia publishes data are rearranged.

The website will be more user-friendly, bringing statistics out of the statistical database and closer to people. It has more interactive charts with automatically updated data, making it possible to access data faster compared to searching in the statistical database.

The most important and latest data can be found from the home page. Each statistical domain has its own page, with the most important indicators of the theme shown there. The website is mobile-friendly and supports easy access from any device.

The upgrading process of Statistics Estonia’s website started last autumn. First, the visual identity for the statistical office was updated, and then, website development work gradually progressed. The website was built in cooperation with Web Expert Ltd and Helmes AS.
