In September, the number of accommodated tourists grew by 4% year on year
According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served 288,000 tourists in September 2025, which is 4% more than in September 2024. There were 3% more foreign and 5% more domestic tourists than in the same month last year. The number of tourists from Finland decreased for the fifth month in a row.
In September, exports of goods grew by 4% and imports by 6%
According to Statistics Estonia, in September, exports of goods increased by 4% and imports by 6% compared with September 2024. In the second and third quarter, the growth in foreign trade slowed down.
The consumer price index was up by 4.6% in October year on year (corrected at 10:20 on 7 November)
According to Statistics Estonia, in October, the consumer price index remained at the same level as in September and increased by 4.6% compared with October 2024. Goods were 2% and services 8.3% more expensive than in October last year.
At-risk-of-poverty rate down, absolute poverty rate up in Estonia
According to Statistics Estonia, 19.4% of Estonia’s population lived at risk of poverty and 3.3% in absolute poverty in 2024. Compared with 2023, the share of people living at risk of poverty fell by 0.8 percentage points. The share of people living in absolute poverty, however, increased by 0.6 percentage points.
Industrial production was down by 1.5% in September
According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2025, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 1.5% at constant prices compared with September last year. Among the three industrial sectors, output increased by 4.8% in mining but decreased by 18.5% in energy production and by 0.4% in manufacturing.
HICP flash estimate: prices in October did not rise compared with September
According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, remained unchanged in October 2025 compared with September. Compared with October last year, the HICP rose by 4.5%. This is a flash estimate, which will be refined once more detailed data on October prices are received.
