The first population and housing census in re-independent Estonia was carried out from 31 March to 9 April in 2000. The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased in January by 2.4% compared to December 2021 and by 26.6% compared to January 2021.

Collected data revealed that the educational attainment of the population continues to rise. The level of education of foreigners living in here has also increased significantly. According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2018, compared to March of the previous year, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased 1% at constant prices. While in February, the turnover increased 3% compared to the same month of the previous year, the growth decelerated slightly in March.
