PHC 2011: the average area and number of rooms of Estonian dwellings have grown

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011) 657,791 dwellings were enumerated. Compared to the previous Census, the average area of the dwelling as well as the number of rooms per inhabitant have increased.

The enumerators of pilot Census of PHC 2011 will start face-to-face interviews

Tomorrow, on 5 March starts the second phase of the pilot Census of 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), in the course of which the enumerators of Statistics Estonia will visit those people living in the pilot Census areas who did not participate in e-census.

In February imports of goods increased by a quarter compared to the previous year

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2012, exports of goods grew by 16% and imports by 25% at current prices compared to February of the previous year. The growth in imports was mostly influenced by the increase in the arrivals of mineral fuels and transport equipment.

Estonian Household Finance and Consumption Survey

What kind of survey is it? The Estonian Household Finance and Consumption Survey assesses the real and financial assets and debt levels of Estonian households, as well as their income, savings, and consumption behaviour. Who commissions the survey? The survey is conducted in cooperation with the Bank of Estonia ( Eesti Pank). The same kind of surveys are carried out in all euro area countries, organised by national central banks and coordinated by the European Central Bank.
