According to Statistics Estonia, in September compared to September of the previous year, exports of goods grew by 41% and imports by 35% at current prices. Exports and imports were mostly influenced by the remarkable increase of trade in machinery and equipment.

According to Statistics Estonia, starting today, 16 August, until Thursday, employees from the statistical institution of Bosnia-Herzegovina will be familiarising themselves with Estonia’s experience in organising population censuses, and with the preparatory work taking place for the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011).

Since 1996 the Statistical Office conducts reputation surveys and user surveys. The survey is conducted at least once a year, the existing as well as potential consumers are interviewed. The aims of user surveys are: to find out the reputation of the Statistical Office among consumers, to find out the need for statistical information, to study the consumers’ preferences in using various statistical products, to get the necessary information for production development. According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2020, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 655 million euros. Compared to November 2019, turnover increased by 6% at constant prices.

Forestry statistics provide information about the size of Estonia’s forest resources, the annual increment of stands, the area of forest land in Estonia, the share of protected forest land or for example the annual volume of fellings. Forest accounting is a statistical framework that treats forests both as a natural resource and as an economic asset from a macroeconomic perspective. The forest accounting framework links physical indicators of forests (forest land area, timber stock, increment, and timber harvesting) with corresponding monetary indicators, as well as with economic indicators

According to Statistics Estonia, 233,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in September, which was 4% more than in September of the previous year. The number of both foreign and domestic tourists increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2009 exports of goods from Estonia at current prices totalled 9.1 billion kroons and imports to Estonia amounted to 10.3 billion kroons. Compared to November 2008, total exports declined by 8% but exports of mineral products (incl. petroleum products) and of wood and products thereof increased.
