How great is inequality in Estonia and how is it divided? As part of the analysis, 11 person profiles were created to depict social gaps and inequality in Estonia. The profiles included a person’s household type, number of children in the household, as well as age, sex, education, ethnic nationality, place of residence, disability and its degree, income, employment, benefits received, distance between place of residence and place of work, health status and satisfaction with life.

In September industrial production decreased

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2013, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 1% compared to September of the previous year. The decline in the production was most of all influenced by the decrease in the manufacture of electronic products.

Construction volumes decreased in 2014

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2014 the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and in foreign countries amounted to 2.1 billion euros, which is 3% less than in 2013. If only the Estonian construction market is considered, the construction volumes decreased 2%.

Domestic tourism helped Estonian accommodation establishments

According to Statistics Estonia, in June, 121,000 domestic tourists and 42,000 foreign tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments. Their total number of nights spent was 301,000. Compared to June 2019, the number of tourists dropped by 60%, but their number was higher than in the last few months.

In January imports grew faster than exports

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2011 compared to the same month of the previous year, exports of goods grew by 57% and imports by 66% at current prices. The growth in imports was mainly influenced by the arrivals of machinery and equipment as well as transport equipment. Among partner countries Sweden ranked the first in both exports and imports.

The production of short-term death statistics was prompted by the 2020 coronavirus crisis. The chart shows the weekly death statistics for 2010–2026. The data for 2010–2024 are final, and the data for 2025 and 2026 is preliminary data from the population register and will be revised. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2013, 80% of households in Estonia had access to the Internet at home. The share of such households has increased five percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.
