Statistical thresholds In 2025, the statistical threshold for the dispatches of goods is 350,000 euros (last year, it was the same). It means that, in 2025, Intrastat data have to be submitted by those enterprises whose turnover of goods dispatched to European Union countries exceeded 350,000 euros in 2024. If enterprises exceed the statistical threshold in 2025, they will also have to submit Intrastat data. Statistics Estonia has decided that the arrivals questionnaire will be abandoned from 2025. According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2021, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 2.8% year on year. Production increased by 11.8% in energy production and by 3.5% in manufacturing, but decreased by 39.7% in mining.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2019, compared to October 2018, the exports of goods decreased by 7% and imports by 6%. The biggest decline, by nearly a fifth, was recorded in trade with non-EU countries.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2015, exports of goods decreased by 6% and imports decreased by 10% compared to May of the previous year. The biggest decrease occurred in the exports and imports of agricultural products and food preparations, mechanical appliances and mineral products.

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2013, exports of goods increased by 6% and imports by 8% at current prices compared to April of the previous year. While the foreign trade declined in February and March compared to the previous year, then as of April, the trade increased. The increase in trade was mainly influenced by machinery and equipment.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2017, the number of passengers served by Estonian transport enterprises remained at the same level compared to the previous year. Carriage of goods decreased in road transport, but increased in rail transport.

The reference period for the EKOMAR questionnaire is a calendar year . In order to facilitate completion, the questionnaire is designed to be as similar as possible to the annual report. The annual report (AR) filed with the Business Register is one of the most important datasets used in the production of statistics. On the basis of AR data, the EKOMAR questionnaire is prefilled in the self-service

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2017, the exports of goods increased by 15% and imports by 12% compared to March 2016. In the first quarter of this year, exports increased by 12% and imports 17%, compared the same period of 2016.
