About the Statistical Council According to the Official Statistics Act, the Statistical Council is formed by an order of the Estonian Government. The duties of the Statistical Council are to advise the producers of official statistics, Statistic Estonia and Eesti Pank (central Bank of Estonia), and the Ministry of Finance. According to Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2018, there were 718,600 dwellings in Estonia, of which nearly 76%, or 542,500, were occupied. Of these, 99.1% were conventional dwellings and other housing units, and 0.9% were collective living quarters.

Construction in foreign countries continued to boost construction volume

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2019, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries increased by 3% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018. Similarly to the 1st quarter, construction volume increased due to work done in foreign countries, whereas construction volume on the domestic market decreased.
