According to Statistics Estonia,  expenditures on research and development in Estonia amounted to 380.7 million euros in 2012, being 3.7 million euros or 1% less than in 2011.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,039 euros and increased by 5.3% compared to the 4th quarter of 2013. In 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries exceeded the 1,000 euro level in the 2nd and 4th quarter.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the decline in the volume of retail trade turnover in September was mainly due to stores selling manufactured goods, as their turnover volume decreased by 6% year on year. “Among stores selling manufactured goods, the biggest decline at 10% was registered in the turnover volume of other specialised stores selling predominantly computers and their accessories, books, sports equipment, games, toys, etc., and also in the turnover volume of stores selling household goods and appliances, hardware and building materials,” added Pihlak

Eveli Šokman, team lead of producer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with July 2024, the producer price index was most affected by price decreases in electricity production and in the manufacture of fuel oils. “Higher prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products and in the manufacture of food products had the opposite effect on the index. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 6.3% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.4%.

According to Statistics Estonia, on the basis of the first estimates of 2010 Agricultural Census the number of agricultural holdings has decreased almost three times as compared to the last, 2001 Agricultural Census.
