According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,039 euros and increased by 5.3% compared to the 4th quarter of 2013. In 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries exceeded the 1,000 euro level in the 2nd and 4th quarter.

Statistics Estonia announces the competition for the young statistician’s grant named after Albert Pullerits. The aim of the grant is to promote statistics as an important field of science and to encourage students to apply and develop statistical methods.

The first population and housing census in re-independent Estonia was carried out from 31 March to 9 April in 2000. 30% of the enterprises whose submission deadline for the comprehensive annual questionnaire for enterprises (EKOMAR) was Friday, 1 July submitted the questionnaire by the deadline. At Wednesday’s meeting with enterprises submitting EKOMAR questionnaires, Statistics Estonia explains the importance of the collected data to enterprises and hopes to improve data collection in cooperation with them.
General government budget is in deficit, debt doubled in a year

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2020, the Estonian general government deficit was 4.8% and the gross debt level was 18% of the gross domestic product. At the end of 2020, the general government consolidated expenditures exceeded the revenues by 1.3 billion euros.

As of today, 1 July, a public choice competition is open, determining who will represent Estonia in the younger age group at the European Statistics Competition. The competition was interrupted during the emergency situation but is now continued.

According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 10.2% in the 1st quarter of 2013. The unemployment decreased compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year but increased compared to the previous quarter. The unemployment of young people aged 15–24 increased more rapidly.
