According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the average monthly gross wages and salaries in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia were 1,548 euros, which is 6.9% more than in 2020. Wage growth recovered following a slowdown in 2020 and reached the pre-pandemic level.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2019, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 1% year on year. Similarly to the first half of the year, construction volume increased in foreign countries but decreased in Estonia.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February, exports of goods increased by 16% and imports by 10% year on year. The growth in foreign trade was significantly boosted by trade in mineral products and wood and articles of wood.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2022, there were 13,334 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 26% more than in the same quarter of 2021. Approximately 5,000 people left their jobs at the initiative of the employer.
Trade in goods down in August, most notably with EU countries

Evelin Puura, the foreign trade statistics team lead at Statistics Estonia, said that trade in August was affected by the continued decline in exports and imports in trade with European Union (EU) countries. “Compared with August 2023, exports to EU countries decreased by 3% and imports from EU countries by 8%. At the same time, extra-EU exports were up by 6%,” noted Puura. The main commodities exported in August were electrical equipment (16% of Estonia’s total exports), agricultural products and food preparations (11%), and wood and articles of wood (11%).
