According to Statistics Estonia, the average monthly gross wages and salaries in the first quarter of 2024 were €1,894, which is 8.8% higher than in the same quarter the year before. The median wages were €1,553 in the first quarter of this year and €1,424 in the same quarter of 2023.

Eveli Šokman, team lead of producer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with April 2024, the producer price index was most affected by price increases in the manufacture of wood and wood products, in electricity and heat energy production, and in the manufacture of food products. “Falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and paper and paper products had the opposite effect on the index.
