According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2022, the consumer price index increased by 3.6% compared to March 2022, and by 18.8% compared to April 2021. Goods were 14.4% and services 27.8% more expensive than in April last year.

SHARE survey about to begin across Europe

At the end of October, SHARE survey will begin again. The survey is used to collect data on health, ageing and retirement of people aged 50 and older.

Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that April data show that the growth in manufacturing output has become broad-based. “In April, the volume of industrial production increased in most manufacturing activities. Eveli Šokman, team lead of producer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with March 2024, the producer price index was most affected by price increases in the manufacture of wood and wood products, in electricity production, and in the manufacture of food products. “Falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils, paper and paper products, and furniture had the opposite effect on the index. At the end of the year, on 28 December, the Population and Housing Census, conducted every ten years, starts in Estonia. Everyone living in Estonia is invited to complete an online questionnaire for the census by 22 January 2022.
