Publication of statistics according to EMTAK 2025

EMTAK 2025 is the new version of the Estonian Classification of Economic Activities which is in force since 1 January 2025 and has been updated to reflect today’s economic environment and activities. Publication of data based on the new classification begins in 2026. The use of common classifications in the compilation and publication of statistics ensures the comparability of statistical information. Economic activities are classified according to the Estonian Classification of Economic Activities (EMTAK) which has a hierarchical structure with five levels. The first four levels correspond to

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 855 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.21 euros. Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2011, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 5.7% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries increased 8.1%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 12,716 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 77.16 kroons. Compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 4.4% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 1.4% lower.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 11,865 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 74.46 kroons. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 2.3% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 2.7% lower.

In the 2nd quarter the growth of the average monthly gross wages and salaries slightly accelerated

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 976 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.71 euros. Compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 8.5% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries 8.1%. The yearly growth of the average monthly wages and salaries in the 2nd quarter was to some extent faster than in the 1st quarter.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 12,869 kroons (822 euros) and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 75.81 kroons (4.85 euros). Compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 1.2% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 1.7% lower.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2020, the labour force participation rate was 70.4%, the employment rate was 65.4%, and the unemployment rate was 7.1%. There were 49,400 unemployed persons, which is 14,400 more than in the first quarter.
