From 2023 onwards, there will be changes to the questionnaire “Wages and salaries and labour force” (1462). The changes are related to the increased use of register data in the production of wage statistics. The data collected with the questionnaire will be used to produce labour cost indices and job vacancy statistics. Previously (until the end of 2022), this questionnaire was also used to collect data for average wage statistics. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 976 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.71 euros. Compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 8.5% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries 8.1%. The yearly growth of the average monthly wages and salaries in the 2nd quarter was to some extent faster than in the 1st quarter.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 11,865 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 74.46 kroons. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 2.3% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 2.7% lower.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 12,716 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 77.16 kroons. Compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 4.4% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 1.4% lower.

Compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 1.2% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 1.7% lower.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2011, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 865 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.19 euros. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 6.3% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.4%.
