According to Statistics Estonia, in 2016, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased 1.6% compared to 2015. In the 4th quarter of 2016, the Estonian economy grew 2.7% compared to the 4th quarter of 2015.

During the data literacy week, which begins on 27 March, Statistics Estonia invites all young people or anyone else who is interested to improve their data literacy. The main event of this week is Küsimus24, a 24-hour question marathon organised for the first time, during which anyone can submit a question to Statistics Estonia.

What kind of survey is it? The internet use and digital skills survey assesses how and for what purpose people in Estonia use computers and the internet. Who commissions the survey? The internet use and digital skills survey is conducted using the questionnaire and harmonised methodology developed by Eurostat, which ensures comparability of the results for different European Union (EU) countries. The share of men receiving parental benefit increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, men accounted for slightly more than a fifth of the 34,570 persons receiving parental benefit. The average monthly parental benefit was 1,170 euros for women and 1,638 euros for men. The parental benefit gap was the lowest ever.
The ratio of labour taxes in GDP decreased last year

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010 the ratio of labour taxes in gross domestic product (GDP) was 18.3% and it decreased by a half percentage points compared to the previous year.
Unemployment decreased in the 2nd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, unemployed persons numbered 47,000 and the unemployment rate was 6.9% in the 2nd quarter of 2014. Employment increased compared to the 1st quarter, but decreased compared to the same quarter of the previous year. This shows that Estonia is gradually facing the consequences of declining labour force.
