Unemployment decreased in the 2nd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, unemployed persons numbered 47,000 and the unemployment rate was 6.9% in the 2nd quarter of 2014. Employment increased compared to the 1st quarter, but decreased compared to the same quarter of the previous year. This shows that Estonia is gradually facing the consequences of declining labour force.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2015, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased 1.1% compared to 2014. In the 4th quarter of 2015, the Estonian economy grew 0.7% compared to the 4th quarter of 2014.

What kind of survey is it? The Farm Structure Survey gives an overview of the state of agriculture in Estonia. This information is required for developing agricultural policies. The survey provides statistics on agricultural holdings that are comparable across the European Union (EU). Agriculture produces almost 100% of food, covers around 40% of the EU territory, and takes up about 30% of the EU budget. The share of men receiving parental benefit increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, men accounted for slightly more than a fifth of the 34,570 persons receiving parental benefit. The average monthly parental benefit was 1,170 euros for women and 1,638 euros for men. The parental benefit gap was the lowest ever.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2016, the average gross hourly earnings of female employees were 20.9% lower than the average gross hourly earnings of male employees. The gender pay gap decreased by 1.3 percentage points compared to the previous year. The gender pay gap decreased by 1.3 percentage points for the third year in a row.

What kind of survey is it? The internet use and digital skills survey assesses how and for what purpose people in Estonia use computers and the internet. Who commissions the survey? The internet use and digital skills survey is conducted using the questionnaire and harmonised methodology developed by Eurostat, which ensures comparability of the results for different European Union (EU) countries.
